Liesl works as the assistant director of rare books in a Toronto university and is suddenly thrust into the role of her director when has a debilitating stroke. She is tasked with assisting donors with the unveiling of a rare bible, which somehow is missing from her boss’s safe. When another library employee vanishes, Liesl wants a police investigation, which the university does not want because of the negative publicity. When Liesl finally solves the mystery, she ponders if she made the right choices in her life. This book is an excellent glimpse into academic but the “mystery” is a little flat.
