This was a fascinating story inspired by a real-life crime. During the pandemic lockdown of 2020, a severed hand washes ashore at Reef Road beach in Palm Beach, Fla. Two women’s lives intersect as they learn more about what happened: one, a writer who loves researching murder statistics, and the other is a wife whose husband has disappeared with their children. The book reads like nonfiction but it is a completely fictional psychological thriller.
