Public Service Assistant I

The James V. Brown Library in Williamsport, PA seeks a customer-oriented, energetic, and computer-savvy part-time Public Service Assistant I (PSA). Must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment and multi-task. PSAs assist library patrons and promote the use of the library through friendly, efficient, and effective interactions. Must train and certify as a U.S. Passport Acceptance Agent. The PSA role involves physically demanding tasks; for more details, please review the job description linked below.

This is an entry-level, part-time position scheduled for 16-20 hours per week. Anticipated work schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm; alternating Saturdays 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Youth Outreach Professional

The James V. Brown Library is seeking an Outreach Services Professional to work 37.5 hrs a week providing youth service outreach. Primary responsibilities include providing library services by driving the Storymobile to community partners, providing passive and active programming for outreach patrons, scheduling and organizing the vehicle, and providing library services at the library and on the vehicle(s). Applicant must have demonstrable computer efficiency, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent customer skills. Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. A valid PA license and a clean driving record are required. Driving experience with larger vehicles is recommended. Higher education coursework in library services or library experience, specifically with ILS Polaris, are preferred. This position is full-time with benefits, starting at $18 – $21 per hour.

Outreach Services Professional

The James V Brown Library in Williamsport is seeking a full-time professional to provide services through adult outreach programs. Primary responsibilities include driving the bookmobile, programming, forming community partnerships, and in-house customer service. Must have a clean, valid PA driver’s license. Must be able to obtain Act 35 Clearance. Must be forward thinking, have problem solving and leadership skills, be able to work independently and in a team, and have an excellent customer service mindset. High school diploma required, undergraduate degree preferred. Proficient computer skills are required. Retail or point-of-sale computer use is a plus. Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Technical & Digital Services Professional

The James V. Brown Library is seeking a Technical & Digital Services Professional. This position is responsible for all aspects of the OverDrive System for the North Central Library District and an Advantage program limited to the members of the Lycoming County Library System. Responsible for curation of monthly and annual statistics. This position also works as a Technical Services Assistant, with a focus on cataloging and processing. This position is a full-time, 37.5 hrs a week position with benefits, generous paid time off, and participation in the 403(b) retirement plan. Must be forward thinking, have problem solving and leadership skills, be able to work independently and in a team, and have an excellent customer service mindset. Must have good computer skills. Undergraduate degree required. Preference given to MLS/MLiS degree or student with cataloging coursework or experience.
