The James V. Brown Library Presents:

2026 Library Gala

The 2026 Library Gala will feature a special in-person visit by best-selling author Bruce Holsinger on Thursday, September 10 at the Williamsport Country Club. Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased online here.

We are thrilled to return to an in-person author event; bringing the excitement, energy, and personal connection of a live literary experience back to our community. This year’s Gala offers guests a rare opportunity not only to hear from a nationally acclaimed author, but to meet him as well!

Bruce Holsinger will be available before the program and for a short time following the event to sign books and mingle with guests, offering a unique opportunity for personal interaction and conversation.

Please join us for an unforgettable evening in support of the Library’s mission of inspiring today and shaping tomorrow. Guests will enjoy an engaging author presentation, meaningful connections, and a celebration of the impact the Library makes every day. All proceeds from the event will support programs, collections, and welcoming spaces that serve thousands across Lycoming County.

Bruce Holsinger is the author of Culpability, the 116th selection of Oprah’s Book Club, and hailed by Oprah Winfrey as “a must-read for all generations.” His novels include The Gifted School, The Displacements, The Invention of Fire, and A Burnable Book. Known for his compelling storytelling and richly developed characters, Holsinger’s work has captivated readers nationwide.

Sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting Savannah Lorson, Marketing, Development & Public Relations Director, at 570-327-2957 or slorson@jvbrown.edu.

A portion of your ticket price is tax-deductible. The James V. Brown Library is a certified 501(c)(3) organization.

Author Events are the library’s main fundraiser each year. Typically held in the fall, the Author Events are an evening full of fun and laughter for a good cause – your public library! The funds support the library’s mission of being the place to go to learn, connect and grow, and help the library offer programming for all ages.
