Have you ever wondered how Mrs. Lovett came to meet Sweeny Todd and become the owner of the most famous pie shop in London? This book tells her version of what happened before, during, and after meeting the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. If you are a fan of Wicked, you might enjoy The Butcher’s Daughter. Told through letters, newspaper articles, and diary entries, this book was fascinating to me and I had a hard time putting it down. (The content is not for the squeamish, but it is not going to scare you.)
