WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will host the first-ever “Sips & Stories” event from 12 -6 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at New Trail Brewing Co., 240 Arch St.
This free family-friendly event is sponsored by the Friends of the James V. Brown Library.
During the event, guests of all ages can participate in activities and events to win free books and prizes, and make crafts to keep. Bookmobile will be on site so guests can check out library materials and get free library cards.
The schedule of events includes:
- 12 pm – Therapy dogs and family storytime, crafts, 3-card Tarot Card readings
- 1 pm – Face painting, Book Bingo for all ages (all winners receive a free book)
- 2 pm – Face painting, temporary tattoos, and Trivia with Chase “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” with prizes
- 3 pm – Adult Spelling Bee with prizes and crafts
- 4-6 pm – Sweet Biscuit Band performance
Food trucks on site at New Trail that day include Cousins Maine Lobster Truck, Shake Your Buns and Do the Twist Truck. New Trail Brewing Co. will offer a non-alcoholic mocktail in the brewery. Guests will receive a branded steel pint while supplies last.

The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
