This was a fun book in which 20-something sex-worker Alex is dumped by her art dealer boyfriend Simon in the summer on Long Island. Although she has a one-way ticket back to NYC, she can’t go back because she was stealing from her roommates, kicked out of her apartment and being stalked by an angry man named Dom. Alex thinks she can make it through the week until Simon’s big Labor Day party in which she is convinced he will take her back. Working her way through mark after mark, Alex’s stays become more complex, difficult and she burns through anyone who trusts her. When she returns to Simon’s party, her judgment is all over the place – along with her appearance – and the story builds until it reaches a satisfying conclusion.
