This collection of poems and stories takes a new look at the traditional “happily ever after” stories we have grown up with. Nikita Gill does an excellent job of flipping the narratives, not just regarding the heroes but the villains as well. Her poems and stories go far beyond just the normal “females can be strong and males can be vulnerable” tropes that modernized fairytales often take. Nikita’s collection also forces the reader to look out into the stories that life often puts us into and to analyze their role in the grand scheme of things.
