This debut novel is a treat for science-fiction fans. Three characters’ lives interconnect in this fun story about when aliens come to Earth and mistake cats for the dominant species. Blaine and his family take their grumpy cat on a trip to Disney World; Oliver wakes up from twenty years in a coma and is adopted by a telepathic cat; and Heather, a spoiled Malibu teen is annoyed at her “perfect” stepfather and his annoying cat. We later learn the alien ships are piloted by meerkat-like beings and this over-the-top tale wonders what life will be like when the aliens come to Earth.
