This was a fun, twisty book that should appeal to Gen X and Millennials. In the late 1990s, a boy was taken from his backyard tent during a sleepover in a cozy, safe, cul-de-sac neighborhood. Questions remained about why Billy was taken but Ethan, who also was asleep in the tent, was left unharmed. Now in his 40s, Ethan returns to his childhood home and is plagued by nightmares and insomnia. When Billy is found, the drama kicks off with a Stranger Things-like Hawthorne Institute at the center of the mystery. Filled with lots of red herrings and some traditional horror tropes, this is a quick read for Sager fans.
