Fictional best-selling author Vivan Howe is killed in a hit-and-run accident while jogging near her Nantucket home. When she dies, she ascends into the Beyond, where she is greeted by a woman named Martha who will allow Vivi to watch what happens during this last summer and grants her three “nudges” to change the outcome of events. Vivi has three grown children who are each struggling in some way, so Vivi will have to use her nudges wisely. A great beach read for those who want a more uplifting story of love and loss.
