Atomic Habits

This book sums up where the show stopped. Of course, the book is better than the show, but it’s a close comparison. I understand a lot more

I’ve had this book on my shelf for years and wondered if it lived up to the hype. It does … sort of. Atomic Habits are defined by Clear as a little habit that is part of a larger system. Clear uses the process of systems as a way to make changes and reach goals. He shares four laws of behavior change to build better habits:

  1. Make it obvious
  2. Make it attractive
  3. Make it easy
  4. Make it satisfying

The main takeaways are to make your habits small and easy and stack them to create a routine. For me, this book could have been much shorter and more relevant as an essay. I did sign up for Clear’s weekly newsletter, The 3-2-1 Newsletter, which includes 3 short ideas from him, 2 quotes from others, and 1 question to ponder. Let’s hope it’s better than the book! from the show after reading book 6 of the series. I also feel like I’m part of the family of the Rocinante. The ship has become one of the characters in the book at this point. The crew has become so close knit that I feel the camaraderie as I read. If you’re interested in this book series, Book 6 is worth the wait. If you’ve already watched the show but still want to read it, I highly recommend it! I have already moved on to Book 7, The Frontiers Saga
