A teenager living a mundane life passes time mastering an arcade game titled “Starfighter.” When he ends up achieving the high score, he discovers the game is actually a training program to recruit Starfighter pilots against a real-life alien threat, and is pulled into a war in outer space. It’s great if you like a good sci-fi adventure like Star Wars/Star Trek. A feel-good movie with great visual effects for its time, and that goofy 80s movie charm. It has fun characters, and a straightforward plot that doesn’t get bogged down with anything overly complex. Good for a family movie night.
