I decided to go back to Sci-fi for a bit… one of my favorite genres. I wanted to try something different. I chose Andy Weir, author of The Martian. Hail Mary Project follows one character, Dr. Grace, and his journey to deep space to save earth from impending doom as the sun starts to dim. I enjoyed the storyline and the relationships between the characters. There was a lot of math and physics lessons, but the author didn’t make it overly complicated. I felt like I knew exactly what the main character was experiencing at every moment of his journey into deep space. It was not my favorite story in this genre, but it was a quick read, with out-of-the-box thinking and plot development from the author. I recommend this book to anyone looking for an “in-between – I’m indecisive about what to read next” kind of book.
