This book was fantastic but so hard to explain. It’s a time travel romance, a spy thriller, and a workplace comedy. An unnamed civil servant is offered a vague job with great pay at a recently established government entity. Once she accepts, she learns more about the job: working as a live-in “bridge” for “expats” across history to determine whether time travel is feasible on the body and space-time continuum. The people from the history are brought to this near future time and learn to adjust to modern comforts and technology. It is a fascinating and witty take on time travel mysteries with modern romance appeal.
