I was a huge fan of The Martian and Artemis by Weir and was so excited when a coworker recommended this book. The sun is dying, which means Earth is dying, and Ryland Grace is a PhD researcher-turned-junior high school teacher–turned–reluctant astronaut who is here to save the world. But first he has to remember who he is and where is he is when he wakes up years away from Earth on a spacecraft. His two crewmates are dead and Ryland is left with impossible situations in which he knows survival may come down to science. This is a science-heavy and tech-savvy book that is sure to keep The Martian fans happy. Without spoiling it, all I can say is that this is a battle for survival and one man’s attempt at dealing with interstellar loneliness.
