I went on a Taylor Jenkins Reid kick recently and just love her storytelling. This book focuses on Carrie Soto, a retired tennis superstar who has sacrificed everything to become the best. But a rising tennis player, Nicki Chan, starts breaking Carrie’s records so Carrie decides to come out of retirement and be coached by her father to take back her No. 1 spot. With the help of her ex-boyfriend, Bowe, who also is a tennis star, Carrie tackles intense training and media scrutiny as she re-enters the court. I loved the character development between Carrie and her father. As a non-tennis player, the game is explained well without getting too bogged down in details. This is a great read if you love Jenkins Reid.
