WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The James V. Brown Library invites the community to laugh for a cause at Booked for Laughs, a new adult comedy show fundraiser taking place Saturday, March 21, at the Community Room in the Pajama Factory.
The evening will feature comedians from St. Nell’s Humor Writing Residency, a nationally recognized program owned and operated by Emily Flake, acclaimed humor writer and cartoonist for The New Yorker. Known for developing sharp, original comedic voices, St. Nell’s brings professional talent to Williamsport for a night of stand-out comedy.
Adding to the experience, Rosko’s Brewhouse, which was recently awarded first and second place at the Pennsylvania Farm Show beer competition, will be on-site serving craft beer and other beverages. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m. This event is intended for audiences ages 18 and older. Tickets include a complimentary drink, and library cardholders receive a discounted ticket price!
While Booked for Laughs promises an entertaining night out, its purpose extends far beyond comedy. Proceeds from the event support the James V. Brown Library and its mission to provide free and equitable access to resources, education, and enrichment for the community. Funds raised help sustain essential library services that support early literacy, lifelong learning, technology access, workforce development, and community connection.
“When you attend Booked for Laughs, you’re not just enjoying a great show, you’re investing in a community resource that serves people of all ages and backgrounds,” said Savannah Lorson, Development, Marketing & Public Relations Director at the James V. Brown Library.
