This is a beautiful book with a message for all. Narrated by Red, a 216-year-old oak tree that is the community’s “wish tree,” where residents tie their wishes up each May. But this year, Red is vandalized with hatred toward a new family that moves in. With the help of his crow buddy Bongo, and the Samar family, Red is saved from the chopping block while encouraging acceptance for all. This would make a great family read-aloud.
