Herbs improve the taste of your food but also repel insects, relax you, attract butterflies, and add beauty to your home. But do you know which herbs are the easiest to grow and some of the great uses for herbs?

The Williamsport Herb Guild will present the program, “Herbs are Easy – Think Outside the Box!” from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 at the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St.

The workshop, presented by guild member and Lycoming County Master Gardener Sandy Murray, will feature easy-to-grow herbs and their uses. There also will be herbal refreshments to taste, along with door prizes. Murray has been growing and using many herbs for more than 30 years.

This program supports the PA Forward state initiative by providing social literacy opportunities for learning and highlighting the transformative nature of public libraries within a community.

The program will be presented in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing. Registration is suggested, but not required. Visit calendar.jvbrown.edu to register or call 570-326-0536.

The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
