This is a very quick read. When it was returned to the library and I checked it in, I thought, “Oh, I can get through this!”

And it was a bit of a relief. I am a feminist, but typically don’t enjoy long forays into nonfiction and am leery of feminist literature. It tends to be angry, and while I understand this anger, it doesn’t always make for my favorite reading material.

We Should All Be Feminists was a joy on several counts. It was originally a TED Talk, so it is quite concise, and penned by a Nigerian author who has received multiple awards for her books. She writes well, and has interesting things to say. And physically speaking, it is a cute little book that is fun to hold in your hand. It’s very non-threatening, calm and logical. I recommend it to anyone who is curious.
