‘Today will be different today. Today, I will be present. Today, anyone I’m speaking to I will look them in the eye and listen deeply…’  The story of Eleanor Flood’s day begins with a manifesto for how she will live her life. Of course, she goes off track almost immediately. Eleanor lives in Seattle with her husband, a doctor for the Seattle Seahawks, and their 8 year old son Timby.  A former animator on a hit TV show, Eleanor has arrived at a time in her life when she feels that her marriage is on autopilot and she is not bringing her best self to motherhood. During this novel, which takes place over one day, Eleanor confronts her past and her future, with lots of dark comedy about modern life along the way.
