The fiction book focuses on the tales of Scoutmaster Tim Riggs and five boys in Troop 52 as they spend a weekend camping trip on Falstaff Island off the coast of Prince Edward Island, Canada. This is a trip the Scoutmaster has taken for years, but this trip is like no other. On the first night, a starving stranger shows up, begging for food. The Scoutmaster is a doctor who suspects the stranger has a virus, so he makes the boys stay in another room while he checks out the unknown man. But what Scoutmaster Riggs doesn’t know is that the stranger brought with him something deadlier and more sinister than a virus. Some of the horror of the book is in the graphic details of what happens to the host and how hungry the affected are to eat anything they can.
