Can rules about living with their magic abilities save the Owens children from the family curse? This is a prequel to Practical Magic, but it can stand alone. (I never read that one and still truly enjoyed this.) Set in Manhattan and Massachusetts in the early ’60s through the ’70s, as the whole world was about to change, The Rules of Magic follows each of the Owens siblings as they try to outrun the family curse. They learn that no one escapes the pain and heartache of love, but they also learn the joy that comes along with it.
