Alex and Poppy meet cute in college, and become friends on a shared ride back to their hometown in Ohio. Over the years, their friendship deepens, and part of that deepening is their ‘Summer Trip,’ taken on a budget in college, but grown more elaborate as Poppy gets her dream job as a travel writer for a glossy travel magazine. When we meet Poppy though, she hasn’t spoken to or seen Alex in 2 years. She takes a leap, reaches out, and then plans a trip to Palm Springs where she has five days to fix their friendship. Filled with snappy dialog, likable characters, and interesting locations, this book is practically begging to be made into a rom-com.
