A perfect blend of gothic fantasy and a classic coming-of-age story that can be enjoyed equally by kids and adults. Nobody “Bod” Owens is a “normal” boy who happens to live in a graveyard, where he is raised by its inhabitants. The ghosts who care for Owen are very endearing characters, and add a tenderness to the story. However, there are also plenty of spooky/thrilling moments to go around. I often found myself on the edge of my seat and unable to put the book down. This is actually my introduction to Neil Gaiman’s work, and I can’t wait to read more of his bibliography!
