I have really been into escaping reality right now and devouring books and genres that keep me completely immersed in the story and characters. The book is about two young women who become unlikely friends in Atlantic City. Clara is a teenage boardwalk psychic who begins to have disturbing visions that she believes are real and possibly related to recent cases of missing women in town. Lily is an ex-art gallery girl who now works at a casino spa. Atlantic City is home to a serial killer who is targeting women and leaving their bodies in the marsh. Clara and Lily team up to figure out what’s going on – and try to stay out of the way of the murderer. Although the violence against women is graphic, Mullen’s writing does transport the reader to a compelling reality.
