Therapist and advice columnist Lori Gottlieb’s entertaining memoir is a look at the therapeutic process. We meet some of her patients: a young woman with a terminal cancer diagnosis, an older woman who believes that she has nothing left to live for, a hot TV executive dealing with a lot of repressed emotions. Gottlieb herself is reeling from a bad breakup, and seeks therapy. She lets us in on the process of finding a suitable therapist and how she goes about moving forward. Revealing and engaging.
