Maus is different than every other Holocaust story that I have read. It is a personal portrayal of a survivor, who had determination and resilience during a terrible time in history. Art Spiegelman not only captures the history of what his father endured during WWII, but also the humor in his dad’s little quirks and unique personality. The illustrations are gorgeous and the story is captivating. I found it difficult to put down. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in history.
