The Cookbook Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at noon at the library, 19 E. Fourth St.

Each month the club follows a theme, and selects cookbooks from that theme, members make recipes and bring them in to share with the other club members.

Upcoming themes are:

  • July 16 – Salads (sweet, savory, or healthy)
  • Aug. 20 – Picnic foods
  • Sept. 17 – Soul Food
  • Oct. 15 – Fall Flavors
  • Nov. 19 – Celebrity cookbooks
  • Dec. 17 – Gifts from the kitchen

The library has a vast selection of cookbooks on the second floor of the vintage building and a Cookbook Club display with additional titles in the main circulation area.

The Brown Library is part of a national “Libraries Transform” effort to increase awareness of the changing role of libraries and the ways in which libraries are transforming to meet the information needs of their users.

The program will be presented in the Small Meeting Room on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing. Registration is required. Visit calendar.jvbrown.edu to register or call 570-326-0536.
