In an effort to better meet patrons’ needs, the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., has created a new book club meeting space in the Bibliotopia fiction area.

New furniture for this space was purchased through the generosity of a local donor.

The space has four living room-style chairs and a love seat, along with a coffee table and two end tables to facilitate a bookish conversation in a cozy and comfortable setting.

The Bibliotopia Seating Area may be reserved for a book club or small meeting at no charge for two hours at a time and for three months. To reserve the space, call the library at 570-326-0536 or talk with any staff member.

The Brown Library is part of a national “Libraries Transform” effort to increase awareness of the changing role of libraries and the ways in which libraries are transforming to meet the information needs of their users.

The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
