The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., recently was the recipient of a $5,000 contribution from Jersey Shore State Bank, 300 Market Street, under the Pennsylvania State Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.
The funds will be used to support the educational programs offered at the James V. Brown Library, such as Digital Arts Camp; Teen Comic and Manga Club; Boom, Fizz, POP! (STEM programming); and I Spy Photography.
Created by the Pennsylvania State Department of Community and Economic Development, the EITC program provides tax credits for businesses that make qualified contributions to organizations that provide educational improvement programs, scholarship opportunities and/or pre-kindergarten education. The tax credits allow companies to reinvest those dollars directly back to local communities. Most importantly, the program helps to improve Pennsylvania’s education system for students and families. The James V. Brown Library is an approved Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) by the PA DCED.
The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
