Are you interested in learning about Facebook? Want to see pictures of your children or grandchildren and reconnect with old friends?
The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will offer an “Introduction to Facebook” workshop led by Jessie Young, adult services coordinator. This is a hands-on workshop where users will create an account and an email address is required.
Those who need help creating an email account prior to the class may visit the library’s public computer lab or call Jessie at 570-326-0536, ext. 137. If possible, email yourself a photo or have a photo that can be used as your headshot.
The program will be presented in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing. Registration is required and limited to the first 15 participants. Visit calendar.jvbrown.edu to register or call 570-326-0536.
This one of the many ways the library supports the PA Forward state initiative by providing information literacy opportunities for learning and highlighting the transformative nature of public libraries within a community. When Pennsylvania residents know how to use current technology to improve their education and enhance their skills, they can fully participate in a digital society.
The Brown Library is part of a national effort to increase awareness of the changing role of libraries and the ways in which libraries are transforming to meet the information and technology needs of their users.
The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
