The Friends of the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., are seeking donations of adult, children’s, teens and tween books, DVDs, audiobooks, Great Courses and music CDs for its fundraising store and annual sale.
To make it easy for you to donate, the Friends will station volunteers outside by the library’s east-side entrance on State Street (alley between the city parking lot and East Fourth Street) from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. It is the first of four planned book drop-off dates in 2017.
The donated books help the Friends provide thousands of dollars annually to the library to ensure the continuation of valuable library programs. The Friends raise these funds through the spring and fall book sales, the Friends’ Favorites Gently Used Book Store and through membership dues in the Friends organization.
The Friends’ Favorites book store is located on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing and is open at the following times:
· Monday: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
· Tuesday and Wednesday: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
· Friday: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
· Saturday: 12:15 to 3 p.m.
Donated books may be dropped off at any time during library hours at any circulation desk. Please do not donate textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines or “moldy oldies.”
The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
