Stuck at home and need to get your library fix? The James V. Brown Library can help! The library provides books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs, to handicapped and homebound individuals of all ages living within Lycoming County through its free Books by Mail program.

Patrons who are unable to access the local library due to a temporary or permanent disability, may fill out a request form online under “Outreach” or call 570-326-0536 to start receiving library materials by mail.

All items are delivered to your home in a reusable pre-paid mail-pouch – and packages are returned in the same mail-pouch pre-paid. There is no charge for Books by Mail.

Books can be renewed by phone, through the online catalog or at the nearest Links location unless they are on hold by another patron.

To return books, simply repack them in the handy mailer in which they arrive. Postage is paid.

Please note the following restrictions: newer and high-demand items are available only at the owning library. Bonus books, reference items, PA Room books and audio-visual materials from other county libraries cannot be requested. Items will be sent when available.

Every effort will be made to fulfill requests within three days. All materials should be returned by mail 4 days before the due date, to avoid late fines. (A postage-free return mailer is included with materials.)

Offering this service is how the library champions the love of reading to Lycoming County residents – no matter where they live.

The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
