The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will continue its popular Armchair Travelers Series with a trip to Tanzania, Mt. Kilimanjaro and a safari with Molly Osborn Dean.
Dean will present the program at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, featuring her trip to Tanzania where she explored national game parks and climbed the tallest mountain in Africa. She and her husband visited three parks – Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire – then trekked for 6 days and 5 nights to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,341′). Come see some photos from her adventure and hear her stories.
A South Williamsport native, Dean, attended Dickinson College and Georgetown University. She’s lived in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and currently resides in Houston, Texas. She is a fundraiser for Georgetown University and is passionate about travel and running.
This program is one of the many ways Pennsylvania Public Libraries support the PA Forward Initiative through providing civic and social literacy opportunities for learning. The Armchair Travelers Series is open to members of the public who would like to share pictures of their travels during an hour-long presentation about their trip. Those who would like to host a program may contact Jessie Young, adult program coordinator, at email@example.com or call 570-326-0536, ext. 137.
The program will be presented in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing. Registration is suggested, but not required. Visit calendar.jvbrown.edu to register or call 570-326-0536.
The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
