The James V. Brown Library’s Summer Learning Program isn’t just for kids. There is a special adult program full of educational events, crafts, games and books clubs featuring community prizes.
The Adult Summer Reading program kicked off during June’s First Friday and will continue through Friday, August 30.
It’s easy to participate in the adult program. All you have to do to win a ticket to enter is:
· Visit the library in person and receive a ticket to enter.
· Attend a library program and receive a ticket to enter.
· Check out a book and receive a ticket to enter.
· Fill out an adult summer reading bookmark book review and receive a ticket to enter.
Only one entry per person is permitted and two prize winners will be randomly selected each week during the final month of summer reading (Monday, August 5, 12, 19 and 26). Bookmarks are available at the Help Desk or online at www.jvbrown.edu.
All programs are listed at calendar.jvbrown.edu and include the Wine and Book Club at Barrel 135, educational programs, A Universe of Stories Sci-Fi Book Club, and basic computer programs.
Highlights of the summer program are Adult DIY crafting on June 21 and 22; a Senior Expo on June 23; and Jon Mackey’s Quizzo on July 20 at the Community Arts Center’s Capitol Lounge.
Prizes were generously donated by community businesses and include Jennifer Engel Designs jewelry, a Crosscutters gift package, a Glaze to Be family membership, Faxon Lanes gift cards and more.
The adult summer program is one of the many ways the library supports the PA Forward initiative by providing civic and social literacy opportunities for learning.
