Sponsor a Summer Learner
You can help the Library be a partner in the summer fun for all ages by supporting the Summer Learning Program. This year’s theme, “All Together Now,” focuses on kindness, friendship and unity – characteristics we should embrace all year round.
Did you know that children who have been read to from an early age have a larger vocabulary, acquire better language skills, and are more likely to want to learn to read than children who have not been read to?
Research has shown that children need to develop certain skills in order to fully benefit from the reading instruction they receive when they arrive at school. The Library plays a key role in helping young patrons develop those skills and in educating parents and other caregivers about their crucial role as their children’s first teachers.
The library’s Summer Learning Program is 100% supported by donations from people just like you who understand how books and exciting programs can instill a lifelong love of learning and reading.
All it takes is $25 to sponsor one child in Summer Learning. We cannot do it without you. With your help and generosity, we can nurture young minds to love the world of literature all summer long.
