Every library in the Lycoming County Library System offers free internet and wireless WiFi access and computers for public use.

You also can bring your wireless-enabled laptop computer or other wireless device to the Library to use the free WiFi.

Printing is not available with wireless. If you need to print, please save your work to disk or e-mail files to yourself, then login to a library workstation and send print jobs to a printer.

If you have additional questions about using the library’s computers or printers, please see a member of the Information Services staff.

Wireless users agree to abide by the Library’s “Internet Acceptable Use Policy,” which prohibits abusive or illegal activity while using the Library’s Internet service. By logging on to a public computer, users agree to the policy:

The display of any kind of sexually explicit or offensive image or document on any Library computer is a violation of our code of Library conduct and policy on sexual harassment.

In addition, sexually explicit material may not be created, forwarded, archived, stored, distributed, edited or recorded using our network or computing resources. Among those which are considered offensive, are any messages which contain sexual implications, racial slurs, gender-specific comments, or any other comment that offensively addresses someone’s age, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, national origin, or disability.

No person may use the Library’s Internet facilities to disable, overload or cause malicious disruption to any computer system or network or to circumvent any system intended to protect the privacy or security of another user.

Use of Library Internet access facilities to commit infractions such as sexual harassment, unauthorized public, speaking and misappropriation of intellectual property are also prohibited.

This Library’s Internet facilities and computing resources must not be used to violate the laws and regulations of the United States or any other nation, or the laws and regulations of any state, city, province, or other local jurisdiction in any material way. Use of any Library resources for illegal activity is grounds for immediate dismissal, and we will cooperate with any legitimate law enforcement activity.

In addition to the Internet Use Agreement, there is an “acceptable behaviors” policy for the adult and teen computers. Among other things, computer users are expected to:

  • Talk in a speaking voice
  • Be seated
  • Use appropriate language
  • Follow the Internet Use Agreement
  • Pick up after themselves
