Mango Languages  is free of charge to all Brown Library members and is the easiest and most effective way to learn to speak a foreign language.

It includes a variety of resources to help you learn practical conversation skills for languages spoken all around the world. We offer Mango Basic and Mango Complete Courses, offering more than 60 different language learning experiences.

To use Mango you will need a current library card from the James V. Brown Library. Use 12 digits from the back of your Brown Library card. No spaces needed.

Mango Languages is completely self-paced and the time it takes to build fluency is different from person to person. Mango courses provide an introduction to language and culture through the acquisition of simple conversational skills.

The focus is on practical conversations while increasing vocabulary and grammar skills. Mango is intended to deliver conversational proficiency. Upon completion of a Mango course you will be conversational in the following topics:

Mango is available in three versions:

Mango Basic Courses:
Perfect for a foreign language beginner, Mango Basic teaches everyday greetings, gratitude’s, goodbyes and helpful phrases in a short period of time. The courses,  require only two to five hours of time to complete. Mango offers language learning programs for many of the world’s most popular languages. Keep in mind that we are always developing new programs and the list is constantly changing and growing, are currently available in over 50  foreign languages and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

Mango Complete Courses:
Mango Complete offers a 100-lesson course that digs much deeper and is designed to provide a more complete understanding of the entire language and culture.
