Not really into reading, prefer to watch the movie, enjoy learning new things visually – thenMovies-icon James V. Brown Library has you covered with over 15,000 DVDs.  Our collection includes award-winning classic titles such as My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn and latest releases such as Flight with Denzel Washington.  And everything in between!   DVDs rent for only 25¢.  This is cheaper than many other rental places (Red Box, anyone?).   As an added feature, bonus copies of the hottest and newest titles are also available in Blu-Ray and rent for only $1 for two nights.

Want to share the love of movies with your friends or family?  Consider giving them a movie gift card for 10 rentals ($2.50) or 20 rentals ($5).  The gift card makes it easy to share the love of movies.  Library card holders can check out eight DVDs at a time- an entire week’s worth of moving watching.

Are you the type of person that would like to discuss and critique a movie’s characters, storyline, or graphics?  Join our Market Street Matinees held every Tuesday in the Lowry Theater.  Each month features a designated theme or highlights an accomplished actor/actress. In February, Market Street Matinees celebrates romance with America’s sweetheart, Meg Ryan, in four beloved comedies.  Join us at 2:00pm, every Tuesday for our big screen viewing.  Bring a lunch or pickup snacks from the library’s vending machines.  For specific movie titles and dates, please call 570.326.0536.
